On 2nd April,2010, we had organized a coordinator's workshop at silicon campus. About 10 of our friends were present in this workshop. The workshop started at 8:15 AM with the jar experiment. From the experiment we looked deep within by eradicating our outer image and measuring our lives with PHUIL. We compared our lives with the Jar which was looking nice from outside but having the muddy water inside.
We can convert muddy water into clean water by adding pure water to it. Similarly we can be pure by cultivating good qualities within us. Then some of our friends shared how they wore the mask like the jar. And we took resolution to remove the mask that we have wore and we will be transparent from both inside and outside.
After breakfast, we had a discussion on “elements of IofC individual”. Then all observed time of silence, where we wrote what are the Individual actions that we want to take in our life to become different from others. We introspected on the elements that should exist within us / what are the qualities that we want to inculcate in our life.
Few of us shared:
1)I want to develop loving & caring environment within us.
2)I want to develop serving attitude towards others.
3)To support my family emotionally & financially.
4)I want to reduce my jealousness & ego.
5)I want to become like a commando who is active every time.
6)I want to reduce my expenditure.
7)I want to be happy & to keep others happy.
8)I need to develop the understanding attitude.
9)I want to nullify the hatred which I developed for some of my friends.
10)I want to decrease my level of frustration.
11)I want to keep my family bonded.
12)I want to be fluent in English.
13)I want to spend more time with under previliged.
14)I want to become punctual.
15)I want to be self satisfied.
16)I want to adopt 3-D (devotion, determination, dedication) in my life.
17)I want to keep my society pollution free & clean.
As we all feel that relationship is the most important element which is common to all and we want to have good relationship with all hence all of us did our relationship map and we visualized where we have to work. Then we shared our relationship map in pair.
Then we discussed how can we contribute to preserve the nature. We started our discussion with global warming. As now global warming is a major problem for our mother earth & its offspring. So we disscussed what we can do as an individual to escape from this major problem. All of us thought about this for fifteen minutes & then discussed how we can save our mother earth.
We have noted following points to act :
1)Less use of pollutants like petrol. We can use motor bikes only when necessary & more use public transports.
2)If we see anywhere the water tap is left opened, we can close it.
3)We can reduce the use of polyethenes .We can reuse it & more use of paper bags.
4)We should leave the garbage in dustbin.
5)We can save the energy by saving electricity.
6)Servicing our motorbikes in proper time.
7)Finally we should emphasize on reduce, reuse & recycling of non-biodegradable materials.
Then we have a discussion on National Consciousness, the stand of politics in India? What's our future? And how it impacts our lives?
Then at the end we dispersed to Make a Difference with refreshed commitment…
